Riding Lessons

Lessons are available to any level of rider(ages 6+). Andrea has a slower approach than most, and puts a strong emphasis on correct riding, safety and being able to understand your equine partner. If your only goal is to "go fast", this may not be the program for you.

We offer both English and Western lessons

Unmounted Lessons

Learn the language your horse speaks! Ground work is important for building and maintaining a relationship between horse and rider. We are able to observe and learn more from our horses on the ground, rather than on their back. Working with horses on the ground can also show us what we may need to work on ourselves. Unmounted lessons can include: grooming, leading, problem solving, noticing anxiety in our horse and learning how to manage, leading over obstacles, etc.

Donkey Lessons

While donkeys are equines, they are. much different than horses. They are a lot more subtle in their body language, and require a lot more patience. They are known to be stubborn, however they are incredible smart and sensitive animals. Donkeys are only available for unmounted lessons.

Class Types

30 minute lesson-These are available to anyone, but are mostly recommended for younger children who do not have the attention span yet required in a bit longer lesson. This is riding time only.

45 minute lessons-These are available to anyone, but this includes learning how to prepare your horse to be ridden. These are great for anyone who wants to expand their knowledge or just someone who may need a little time to connect and feel comfortable with the horses before riding. We will spend about 30-35 minutes on the horse.

Unmounted Lessons-These lessons are available to older kids/teens and adults. No riding is included and they run for about 40-45 minutes.
